The brand is known today for its high-end fashions and colorful designs. Based in Varese, Italy, the company is privately owned and operated by the Missoni family, with daughter Angela Missoni managing the fashion lines and son Luca handling research and development into knitwear design, new designs, and textile machines. The first fragrance was launched in 1982, with EuroItalia, an Italian luxury fragrances and cosmetics company, currently holding the fragrance license.
