Guerlain is one of the oldest fashion houses in the history of perfumery. Pierre-François Pascal Guerlain founded it in the distant 1828. The brand is known for using very rare ingredients in its fragrances, some of which are grown in their private plantations. Also, Pierre-François is one of the first designers who used synthetic ingredients in his perfumes. After his death, his sons took the lead of the company, but in 1994, the brand ceased to be a family business and was bought by LVMH.
