The designs of London-based creative director Virgil Abloh for Off-White are a successful mix of Japanese-inspired designs and graphic motifs with a high fashion twist. Urban aesthetics combined with innovative fashion ideas make the cult streetwear label Off-White one of the hottest fashion brands worldwide. His CV reads like a fairy tale, at the age of 22, he met the then relatively unknown rapper Kanye West and began working for him as a creative director. In 2009, they both completed an internship at the Italian luxury brand Fendi. Only four years later – in 2013 – Virgil Abloh founded his label Off-White in Milan after taking his first steps in the fashion industry. The name Off-White describes the grey zone between black and white. The company logo is composed of a four-way arrow that forms a cross. Off-White is fashion infused with stylish casualness. This contemporary fashion concept enables the designers to skilfully turn casual streetwear into unmistakeable looks, combining industrial chic and fine materials to form an unique symbiosis.
