Un Bois Vanille Cologne by Serge Lutens, Un Bois Vanille is a fragrance that was launched in 2003 for men along with its companion fragrance of the same name for women. The fragrance was a collaboration with Christopher Sheldrake and contains notes of sandalwood, black licorice, coconut milk, beeswax, bitter almond, musk, vanilla, benzoin, guaiac wood, and tonka bean.
Serge Lutens began his eponymous brand in 2000, but has a long history in the realms of fashion, perfumery, photography, cosmology, and even filmmaking. Lutens was born in Lille, France in 1942 and relocated to Paris around 1960 and began working with Vogue magazine, and collaborating on a Christmas issue for his first assignment. Just a few years later, he was called upon by Christian Dior for a commission for a cosmetics line. Parfums-Beaute Serge Lutens creates fragrances largely as a collaborative effort with Christopher Sheldrake. LutensÕ short films have made appearances at Cannes Film Festival, and his brand continues to produce the niche fragrances he has become known for.
