Lolita clothing is sold by various design houses referred to as “brands”. “Brand” is also often a term used for the individual items of clothing that comes from one of the larger brands. The term “brand” is most often used to describe the larger, more popular founding Lolita brands in Japan. Smaller brands around the world, typically run by one person, are referred to as Indie Brands
